Santa Portraits Still Available! Nov 19th

We are sold out on Saturday but I have a few spots left for Friday November 19th! This year I am offering 30 minute sessions and 60 minute sessions. The 30 minute sessions are all with Santa, the 60 minute allow for some shot with and without Santa (in case your little one has a case of Santa fright). Our set this year will be a traditional Christmas set as though Santa were visiting your living room. PJs or dress up clothing can be worn and make sure they bring their lists to share with Santa! Video recorders are welcome, but no cameras please.

What type of modesl do I need:

Fall Sessions - Yes I know its 100 outside!

Even though it doesnt feel like Fall, it looks like it! Did this session today in between rain bands! God gave us about 20 mins of sun to run outside and shoot the outside images which I LOVE! All of these are natural light including the inside images, I love the soft beautiful light with my backgrounds, just yummy! Survey & Ideas

After reading thru the first couple of days of the survey we sent out, I am seeing that there are a large number of people who need me to be able to shoot closer into town so I am looking into sharing space with another photographer or something like that and offering limited sessions closer into town. I have one in mind right now that ...is a residential studio in the 620/183 area.

I'll let ya know when I have set news!

We're also working on revamping pricing for September, keep an eye out here for the new lower pricing on many items!

Now one area that is going to go up, because our suppliers have all raised prices, is frames. SO right now, Framed Collections are the same price as they have been, as of September 1st they will go up in price, so if you want one, order now!! they are also discontinuing several matts, many I can still get until they run out, but if you have one you love, get with me ASAP!!

Models Needed - LOTS of them!

I need models for several projects I am working on. The set design company that is working on the show that used my pictures (ABCs "My Generation") is interested in doing further work with me for future projects, so I am working on a "Stock" photography CD. I also am working on a newborn/baby calendar that I would like to do for charity AND lastly, product shots with props for my prop company and Miss Cory's baby clothing company. SOOOO, lots needed, please feel free to pass this on to friends, family, anyone! Also, check out my Facebook fan page for updates (see FB link on the sidebar).

Ok heres what I need:

I need several newborns, all sizes, under 2 weeks old or HEAVY sleepers. These could be LONG shoots, so you need to be able to committ to 2-3 hour blocks.

I need 6-9 month old babies, sitting up WELL. I need a particularly chubby one and a English Bulldog for a specific shot I am doing.

I need a tatood daddy with a newborn, preferably back tats, nothing scary.

I also need soome 2-3 yr old girls in fun, funky clothes.

I would like this to be for people who need to purchase pictures, not as much for me to make money, but I think its a great chance to be able to get some costs down for the pictures for people.

Compensation will be discussed per session, so email me for information on that at sppjen@aol.com. You MUST be willing to sign a blanket release which allows me to use these images in any way I want to. I can assure you, they will only be used in "appropriate" ways :)

Cool News!

Ok, so God is So good..so I get an email today froom one of the hospitals that I decorated, the biggest one in fact, and apparently ABC has a film crew there and is filming a movie, saw my display and has requested to use several pieces in their "set" for the movie! SOOOOO cool! MY PORTRAITS ARE GOING TO BE IN A MOVIE!

Current Events!

Wow! Summer is flying by, I can't believe how long its been since I have blogged! We have had a busy summer for being "not busy". We've been gardening and "ranching" on our little ranch as well as kicking off a new side business for me, FINI.

FINI is a fun project that I have wanted to do for a number of years. It is in the very beginning stages of development but essentially I am using my "prop eyes" to find fun & unique props for photographers and videographers but also for anyone who just likes unique items and eventually hopefully, eventually interior designers. Had to share a few of these, these are from a model session we did recently. It is SO cute and is made from jersey material so very cool and comfy. The two other hats are new props I have made recently that have a soft vintage feel to them! And all of these shots were done with natural light in my studio, I was playing with existing light and I have found so many places I can shoot different "looks", its fabulous!

Model Call

Ok, so we had several models step up for the last model call, but I only got to use 2 of them and now I need MORE, so please send this to anyone who you think might fit the bill and needs some portraits! For all info please email me at sppjen@aol.com

Here's how it works:

Session: I have complete control of the design of the session although I can send you some ideas that I will be working with so you know if the look is "right" for you. If there are any specific shots you want and I can do them, I will incorporate them, but please ask me ahead of time so I can tell you if that will fit in with what I am trying to do.

Location: Sessions are in my studio in Liberty Hill which is West of Georgetown about 15 miles and north of Leander...please look at it ahead of time and be sure you can commit to the drive and time.

Compensation: I have designed my model calls to be saleable images for people as well as marketing for me. That means that I want people to come in that are in need of portraits but who either want to "try me out" first, or possibly have budgetary issues that would normally keep them from coming in. So, what you will receive is a free session that will last anywhere from 1-2 hours (possibly more for newborns) you will receive a $50 gift certificate towards portraits or Framed Collections (may not be used for birth announcements) PLUS as long as you order within 7 days you will save 20% off of my normal pricing (Standard Pricing) or 10% off of my Watch Me Grow or Baby Club pricing.

CURRENT "NEEDS"

Newborn: I have several needs for the newborns, but I'm trying to keep a few things "under wraps" until they are ready for release and really I need all sizes and either boy or girl will work so email me at sppjen@aol.com if you are interested or know someone who is! I particularly needs a VERY small baby for a special shot I want to do, preemie or just tiny, I work with a lot of preemie babies and special needs, so you can feel safe coming in for this shot.

I also am still looking for a tattooed daddy and newborn. They don't have to be related, this is a personal project for me so if you know a heavily tattooed, physically fit man, have him email me for details. I'm looking for tats that are not scary looking so none that are too "dark" in nature, vintage is great, tribal great, Christian awesome! I would love something that spreads across the whole back if possible.

Maternity: Looking for someone who's showing well for an outside shoot which means HOT weather so they have to be able to be outside for the shoot. We'll be shooting late in the day, outside with wraps and more casual clothing, broomstick skirts that kind of thing. Can't be too shy, we are outside and tummy will be showing although my shooting area is fairly private it does back to a horse ranch and there are sometimes people out. Your Child - As Art

Just working on an image I wanted to share, this will be a sample at the studio, I can't decide if I'll print it as a wrap or an Art Blox. I also created a piece of "Digital Paper" from this image, I just thought it was cool, might be a page on a website or a flyer some day....

Fabulous Model Session from Today

Just had to share a couple of my favorite images from today's model session. These shots were actually done after the shots I needed for the model call (more on that later, but these shots have spurred an idea for another series..more later on that as well). I love the simplicity of them and the joyous, childhood feel to them. I'm always so taken by how simple things bring such joy to children. These girls just made my heart sing, they are precious and SO sweet (as is their mom), thanks Anne for letting me play!

These images were done during the class I taught in May at Texas School of Professional Photography. I spent a week there teaching portraiture, it was fantastic. My students were amazing!

Recent Family Session

The studio changes every week, its amazing!This session is shot in several locations on the grounds and its just amazing to me how different each area looks! This type of session is perfect for a wall grouping of multiple images. I have a book with about 100+ different grouping ideas for the wall and stairwell and of course you can always bring in an image fromyour house and we can design a wall grouping for that space. Some groupings can be smaller images framed in the same or similar styles (or dont frame them and print these as wraps or Art Blox) and colors or some sessions (like this one) lend themselves to be a collection of larger images such as a 20x20 with several 12x12s grouped around it. Nows the time to do these sessions, its already hot outside, don't wait too long!
